CORAL is an organic material, the branches have a radiated texture marked by slightly different colored shades superimposed on areas of concentric growth. This translates into a very characteristic aspect of the surface of carved and polished objects: sometimes parallel lines alternately lighter and darker, sometimes alternately light and dark circles surrounding a small central cavity. It is almost exclusively composed of calcium carbonate, to which a little carotene is fixed. The result is a color that goes from blood red to white.
